Political researchers examine systems of governance across all levels, from local communities to global institutions. Whether analyzing neighborhood councils, legislative bodies, international organizations, activist networks, or the UN, core dilemmas persist: balancing personal ambitions with collective welfare, liberty with fairness, leadership with equity, and civic involvement with influence.
The Political Science and International Relations Department immerses learners in examining governance structures from grassroots to global scales. From municipal assemblies to national legislatures or international forums, fundamental challenges remain consistent - harmonizing personal goals with societal demands, rights with responsibilities, governance with fairness, and engagement with authority.
Our curriculum offers diverse hands-on learning opportunities that enable students to forge real-world connections and conduct original investigations. Those pursuing global policy careers can join our UN Semester Program, interacting with UN officials, national representatives, specialized agencies, and civil society groups.
