The Associate of Science in Early Childhood Education for Transfer is a 60-credit program that equips students to transition into advanced studies in child development, human growth, and early education. This pathway enables students to immediately enroll in upper-level courses upon transferring, often allowing them to finish their bachelor's degree within two more years. Beyond academic preparation, the degree provides career-ready skills for roles involving children, families, and professionals in early childhood settings. Graduates qualify to apply for California's Teacher-level Child Development Permit through the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. The curriculum covers foundational topics including child development theories, educational methodologies, curriculum design, assessment techniques, family dynamics, cultural diversity, health protocols, and concludes with a hands-on teaching practicum.
