The integrated bachelor's and master's program in Pure Mathematics offers comprehensive education in mathematical theory while preparing students for doctoral studies or community college teaching positions. This accelerated pathway allows qualified DePaul undergraduates with junior status (minimum 88 credits) and mathematics coursework equivalent to a minor to seek early entry into the Pure Mathematics MS program. It's particularly advantageous for non-math majors wishing to complement their bachelor's degree with a mathematics master's, creating pathways for collegiate teaching or advanced graduate studies. Prospective students should first meet with their undergraduate advisor and the Pure Mathematics graduate director to assess eligibility and design an academic plan incorporating graduate-level MAT courses as electives or, when applicable, as replacements for major requirements.
