Pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biological Sciences equips you with essential knowledge and abilities for diverse careers in science, research, education, healthcare, and beyond. Through classroom instruction and hands-on experiences, you'll develop independent thinking and teamwork skills. Most faculty lead their own research initiatives, providing multiple opportunities for student involvement. Biological Sciences students are urged to participate in seminars and internships. For those considering education careers, our department collaborates with the College of Education to offer teaching certifications. We provide accelerated dual-degree options, including combined bachelor's/master's programs in Biological Sciences and Biological Sciences with Secondary Education, enabling degree completion in just five years. The Cell & Molecular Biology Concentration bridges biological and chemical principles to explore life at microscopic scales.
