DePaul's Sound Recording Technology (SRT) program offers a comprehensive four-year curriculum that equips students for professional success in the audio field. This program blends classical musical training with cutting-edge music technology education within the School of Music, leading to a Bachelor of Science degree with a sound recording technology specialization. Participants choose between two pathways: performance or audio technology. The curriculum includes intensive coursework in music theory, electronics, synthesis, mathematics, and recording techniques. Performance track students receive individual instruction and participate in ensembles, while audio technology students gain hands-on experience through studio work and can explore specialized areas like television broadcasting, game audio, film scoring, and music business instead of traditional performance requirements.
