Mathematics students should meet with a faculty advisor and the department chair to develop a personalized degree plan. This customized curriculum typically includes the Mathematics Common Core along with six additional math courses selected from other concentration areas, subject to departmental approval. The Mathematical Sciences Department provides both theoretical and practical mathematics courses to support diverse educational and professional objectives. Numerous students pursue mathematical studies to strengthen their preparation for programs in natural sciences, computer science, social sciences, and business fields. These learners often opt to complement their primary major by earning a mathematics minor.
