The Race, Class, Gender, and Justice program explores societal disparities across social, political, and economic spheres. This academic focus raises awareness about the challenges faced by underrepresented communities within the criminal justice system. Curriculum in this area deepens students' grasp of ethical principles, power dynamics, and value systems inherent in justice processes. The field of criminology critically examines legal structures to develop fairer policies and institutions that uplift disadvantaged populations. As criminology majors, students acquire analytical capabilities to interpret crime statistics, assess rehabilitation initiatives, formulate prevention strategies, and critique policy frameworks.
