Mathematics plays an increasingly crucial role, offering solutions across diverse scientific fields including social, biological, physical, behavioral, and management sciences. Fundamentally, mathematical understanding is essential for interpreting and communicating concepts in science, engineering, and societal matters. The discipline maintains strong connections with computer science and statistics, both of which have become indispensable for driving research and technological progress in modern industries. The Associate in Science in Mathematics for Transfer program equips students with the academic foundation needed to transition into the CSU system and pursue a bachelor's degree in a related field. This mathematics-focused curriculum delivers core disciplinary knowledge, broad subject coverage, and preparation for transfer to any CSU institution accepting the Transfer Model Curriculum (TMC). Designed for aspiring bachelor's degree candidates in Mathematics (or approved similar majors) within the CSU network, this associate degree guarantees CSU admission—though not to specific campuses or programs. Transfer students to participating CSU campuses typically need no more than 60 additional semester units to complete their bachelor's requirements. Note that this pathway might not suit students targeting particular CSU locations or non-CSU institutions. Prospective students should always consult with academic counselors regarding university transfer policies and admission criteria.
