Enrollment in this program is competitive. The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to Registered Nurse (RN) Transition Program requires at least three academic quarters to complete (excluding summer term). LVN Transition students join the RN program with advanced standing, as evaluated by the Nursing Program Director. Previous clinical experience in acute care settings may affect placement within the program. Most classes are scheduled during daytime hours. Applicants must possess a valid California LVN license with IV certification. Program graduates qualify to sit for the California NCLEX-RN licensing exam. Advanced placement admissions occur year-round. After acceptance, the program duration is a minimum of three quarters (prerequisite courses not included).
