The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences provides graduate programs culminating in a Ph.D. in either Psychological and Brain Science or Cognitive Neuroscience. Faculty research spans multiple disciplines, covering systems and behavioral neuroscience, cognitive and computational neuroscience, plus social and affective neuroscience. Graduate students work in cutting-edge facilities featuring ample lab space and an MRI scanner exclusively for research purposes. The program's advantages include access to distinguished faculty research initiatives and strong collaborations with other academic units, particularly Dartmouth Medical School.
An applicant must have completed the baccalaureate degree or its equivalent prior to matriculation. The strength of an applicant's academic background and evidence of promise in graduate study is more important than the area of undergraduate study.
