This dual Master of Arts program in Children's Ministry and Professional Counseling offers faith-based graduate education to equip servant leaders for children's ministry while also training them to provide counseling services across diverse environments including community centers, addiction treatment facilities, educational institutions, faith-based counseling practices, mental health hospitals, shelters for abuse victims, religious organizations, rehab facilities, and private practices. Upon earning the Master of Arts in Professional Counseling, graduates qualify to pursue LPCS licensure in their state. The Professional Counseling MA program specifically prepares students for Texas Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) certification, enabling them to offer counseling services in settings like community mental health centers, substance abuse treatment programs, academic counseling departments, Christian counseling practices, psychiatric hospitals, shelters for domestic violence survivors, places of worship, rehabilitation clinics, and independent practices. The increasing demand for professional counseling services coupled with dissatisfaction with value-neutral therapeutic approaches highlights the necessity for a graduate program grounded in biblical principles as both foundation and objective for counseling methodology. Currently, all coursework for the Professional Counseling MA degree is scheduled during evening and weekend hours.
