The Philosophy program, rooted in Christian faith, is committed to exploring the nature of reality—both infinite and finite—through rigorous study of ideas and logical truth-seeking. It examines moral principles, aesthetic experiences, and interprets the world and human existence through a Christian lens. This department aims to introduce students to core philosophical fields (metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, aesthetics), develop their critical thinking, writing, and analytical skills, explore key philosophical problems and their proposed solutions, and study philosophy's historical evolution alongside influential thinkers. Philosophy majors gain preparation for graduate studies or careers in law, ministry, education, business, writing, or professional philosophy, with BA or BS degree options. Program Objectives- Graduates will master philosophy's methods, terminology, and substance, recognizing its impact on Western thought. They will apply sound reasoning and critical analysis in all communication.
