The Kinesiology Department focuses on fostering holistic growth for every student enrolled in its programs. A key priority is cultivating an understanding and reverence for the human body as a divine vessel, emphasizing responsible care of this sacred gift. The department's physical activity requirements serve two primary objectives: First, students engage in structured exercise to counterbalance sedentary academic hours, promoting basic fitness and stress relief. Second, students discover lifelong physical activities that support social, emotional, and overall wellness. The department's mission centers on nurturing both intellect and physicality to prepare future servant leaders in education, coaching, and health/sports professions. Through the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, the department provides kinesiology majors with three specialization paths: General Kinesiology allows customized study through upper-level electives; Exercise Science prepares students for fitness and rehabilitation careers; while Sport Performance delivers specialized training in athletic development, covering safety, conditioning, and performance management for aspiring sports professionals.
