The two-year MFA in Creative Visual Arts offers an immersive, close-knit, and varied learning environment that fosters both interdisciplinary and specialized artistic approaches, enriched by access to diverse academic disciplines university-wide. Each student collaborates with a personalized advisory team comprising selected Department of Art faculty and affiliated professors, alongside approximately 15 visiting artists and critics who lecture and conduct studio critiques at the College of Architecture, Art and Planning (AAP). Annually, the department welcomes two Teiger Mentors in the Arts and organizes both innovative and traditional exhibition opportunities in Ithaca and New York City. Participants benefit from outstanding facilities and resources, an international study trip, graduate assistantships, and substantial tuition support. This four-term, sixty-credit residency program is designed for artists seeking advanced training, requiring at least twelve credits from non-art department coursework.
