The Biochemistry, Molecular and Cell Biology graduate program awards exclusively a Ph.D. degree. Our mission is to immerse students in the wonders of this scientific discipline while equipping them with essential skills for professional achievement. Participants gain access to cutting-edge research opportunities utilizing state-of-the-art technologies. The curriculum features adaptable course options designed to deliver comprehensive expertise across relevant scientific domains, enhance written communication abilities, and educate on ethical research practices. During their first year, students complete three laboratory rotations, followed by a teaching assignment typically in their second year.
The BMCB curriculum combines theoretical instruction, hands-on laboratory work, teaching responsibilities, and innovative research using advanced equipment. Special emphasis is placed on developing grant proposal writing skills, effectively communicating scientific findings to diverse audiences, and classroom instruction techniques. The extensive scientific training and versatile skill set our graduates acquire prepares them for numerous career pathways in the field.
Baccalaureate degree from a college or university of recognized standing.
Candidates come from many academic backgrounds; however, matriculating students will have commonly majored in one of the many areas of biology, chemistry or physics.
