As an art history student, you'll examine traditional core subjects like ancient, medieval, and Renaissance art while incorporating contemporary theories and global visual culture studies. The program enables you to investigate cultural exchanges through visual arts across different eras and regions, both within and beyond Western traditions, deepening your grasp of art history's foundations, methodologies, and interdisciplinary connections. Students gain comprehensive knowledge of artistic developments across various periods and locations: European (from antiquity to modern times), African, North and Latin American, South and Southeast Asian, as well as Chinese and Japanese art. The curriculum also emphasizes diverse art historical approaches and analytical techniques, while encouraging students to connect art history with related humanities disciplines through coursework in history, literature, architectural history, and studio arts. Strong emphasis is placed on foreign language acquisition.
Students completing their high school during the 2021-22 academic year or if they've graduated from high school but have earned fewer than 12 credits at a college or university are eligible for admission as first year students.
TOEFL - Score of 100 and above (Internet-based exam); 70 and above on the PTE Academic; IELTS - Score of 7.5.
