The Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program enables students to explore diverse academic fields through the lenses of feminist and LGBTQ+ critical thought, within a worldwide framework aimed at advancing social equity. Participants will examine how society shapes ideas of gender and sexuality, understand these concepts across different cultures, and analyze their role in upholding societal and political structures. The curriculum also teaches how critically examining and creatively challenging these notions can transform institutions. Students will apply these analytical skills to disciplines including Anthropology, Media Arts, English Literature, Africana Studies, Comparative Literature, Romance Studies, Music, Asian Studies, Industrial and Labor Relations (ILR), Science and Technology Studies, Sociology, Political Science, History, Art History, and others. Given the program's interdisciplinary nature, many students pursue dual majors and enter professions such as law, healthcare, global development, media, research, and grassroots advocacy.
Students completing their high school during the 2021-22 academic year or if they've graduated from high school but have earned fewer than 12 credits at a college or university are eligible for admission as first year students.
