These courses focus on both the substance and style of communication while exploring its psychological foundations and societal impact. Learners will evaluate communication as a system of symbolic human interaction. The curriculum also enhances abilities in reading, writing, listening, logical reasoning, persuasive speaking, structured organization, and precision. Students will further learn to apply key critical thinking principles to strengthen their analytical and evaluative skills.
To earn an Associate of Arts degree, students must complete at least 60 credit units with a minimum 2.0 GPA. Major requirements demand a C grade or higher, with a selection of at least 18 units from designated Communication in English courses. For breadth, coursework must span at least two different disciplines from this list. These major courses may also fulfill general education requirements.
