La Raza Studies is an interdisciplinary program offering students comprehensive insights into the diverse experiences of Chicanas/os and Latinas/os across the Americas. The curriculum highlights comparative and cross-border examinations of Latino/a and indigenous communities, focusing on three key areas: historical research, modern societal challenges, and literary works. Graduates gain professional competencies, ethical awareness, leadership abilities, and connections to career networks or graduate programs. To earn an Associate in Arts Degree, students must complete at least 60 credit units, including major and general education requirements, while maintaining a 2.0 GPA. All major courses require a C grade or higher.
Potential career paths include government roles, legal professions, teaching, social services, media, political work, therapy, global affairs, writing, public administration research, and law enforcement.
