The Studio Arts Program at Contra Costa College provides students with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills to prepare for a Bachelor of Arts or Fine Arts degree in various disciplines like drawing, painting, design, ceramics, photography, or sculpture. To earn an Associate in Arts Degree, students must complete at least 60 units of coursework, meeting major and general education requirements while maintaining a 2.0 GPA. All major courses require a grade of C or higher.
Art career opportunities include: painter, printmaker, sculptor, art director, cartoonist, fashion illustrator, forensic artist, advertising production manager, art conservator, various design fields (industrial, textile, video/film, multimedia, jewelry, furniture, fashion, stage), graphic designer, commercial illustrator, exhibition designer, museum curator/technician, art appraiser, antique specialist, architect, library assistant, art sales professional, set decorator, and art instructor.
