This program aims to cultivate and motivate future creative managers and producers through comprehensive education. The coursework combines practical classes focused on essential producer and manager skills with discussions addressing key issues in the theatre industry. It equally covers commercial and nonprofit theatre, highlighting their collaborative relationship. Students benefit from two years of instruction led by top New York theatre professionals, plus at least three internships available during the first two years or while completing their thesis in the third year. The program includes classes and theatre performances both on campus and across the city, with access to specialized courses at Columbia Law School, Columbia Business School, Teacher's College, and the School of the Arts Film Program. Students also refine their craft by collaborating with peers in directing, playwriting, dramaturgy, acting, and stage management through class projects and productions. Graduates enjoy strong career prospects, supported by an expanding network of faculty, guest speakers, and alumni who enhance the program's reputation worldwide.
Applicants should have the equivalent of a U.S. baccalaureate degree, and should understand idiomatic English and speak, write, and read English with a high degree of facility.
English Language Requirements
Applicant must have minimum TOEFL score of 100 on the online portion or 600 on the written portion.
