The interdisciplinary Master of Arts in Regional Studies: Latin America and the Caribbean (MARSLAC) offers a comprehensive social science perspective on modern and contemporary Latin American and Caribbean studies. This program blends foundational seminars focused on regional academic research with the flexibility to enroll in graduate courses across various Columbia University departments. In the initial term, students build strong grounding in essential contemporary Latin American scholarship covering topics like democratic transitions, legal systems, urban growth, ecological shifts, economic exchanges, migration patterns, gender dynamics, and cultural diversity expressions.
