The standalone MA program in Economics is designed for students aiming to enhance their understanding of economic principles and their practical applications, with the intention of completing only the master's degree. This program may also appeal to those seeking advanced economics training before committing to a PhD. Prospective PhD candidates are encouraged to apply directly to the doctoral program. Structured to deliver a technically rigorous approach to economic theory, the MA curriculum also allows students to customize their studies through elective courses aligned with their academic and career objectives. Applicant must have strong background in undergraduate economics is highly recommended (principles of economics, intermediate microeconomics, and intermediate macroeconomics). Substantial training in college-level calculus and statistics is also recommended (multivariate calculus, linear algebra, and statistics). Applicants will be evaluated on the quality and breadth of their undergraduate preparation for the study of economics at the graduate level.
