The Education Leadership doctoral program (Ph.D., EdL) offers an intensive research-focused curriculum designed to prepare future professors and researchers for leadership positions in PK-12 education. Rooted in Teachers College's enduring commitment to social justice, groundbreaking research, and fostering partnerships, participants will engage in studies and investigations at the intersection of equity and social justice, concentrating on school administration, adult learning, data analytics, and organizational leadership. The program achieves this through a distinctive core curriculum that addresses contemporary challenges, theoretical frameworks, investigative approaches, and practical applications in K-12 educational leadership, culminating in original dissertation research guided by faculty mentors.
In order to be eligible for admission, international applicants must hold, or be in the process of obtaining, the equivalent of a U.S. baccalaureate degree.
