The Nanoscale Structures and Integrated Devices field leverages core physics concepts to pioneer innovative electronic, photonic, and optical components using both traditional and novel materials like graphene, 2D semiconductors, and organic semiconductors. This work encompasses nanoscale fabrication, analysis, and electromagnetic engineering of quantum devices and sophisticated silicon photonic systems, with applications spanning from Lidar technology and optogenetics to energy-efficient computing and flexible electronic solutions.
