The Cell and Molecular Biology Program provides diverse research opportunities spanning multiple disciplines, including cancer biology, infectious diseases, metabolism (including biofuels), neuroscience, plant biology, molecular physiology, gene regulation, reproductive biology, developmental biology, and structural biology.
This interdisciplinary graduate program brings together more than 100 faculty members from 17 departments across 6 colleges, all united by their focus on cellular and molecular biology. The M.S. curriculum features core classes in molecular genetics, cell biology, scientific communication, and research ethics, with optional electives tailored to individual interests. Students participate in two rotating seminar series to present their work and learn from CSU faculty and visiting experts.
Most core coursework can be finished in the first year. Students can earn a Plan A M.S. degree in two years, while the Plan B option may be completed in just three semesters.
