Organ students can showcase their skills on the renowned Casavant organ, a globally celebrated instrument since its 1968 installation. Recognized by Anton Heiller that same year as one of the planet's top 25 organs, Colorado State University's Casavant exemplifies North German craftsmanship, acclaimed for its exceptional tonal balance and voicing. Beyond practice and lessons on the Casavant, students benefit from partnerships with local churches, gaining access to three additional outstanding Fort Collins organs: St. Luke's Episcopal Church's Phelps organ, First United Methodist Church's Marcussen & Son instrument, and the American Baptist Church's Allen Digital organ. Harpsichord students work with a Dennis Brown-built (1982) two-manual, three-choir instrument modeled after Taskin's specifications - the legendary French harpsichord maker for Versailles' royal court.
