The Master of Arts in History with a Public History Specialization, focusing on Cultural Resource Management and Historic Preservation (Plan B), offers a tailored curriculum. This program equips students with expertise in historical methodologies, architectural history, heritage studies, digital history, community involvement, and practical training in CRM and preservation work. Students gain experience in identifying, interpreting, rehabilitating, and managing historical and prehistoric sites and landscapes. Graduates typically pursue careers with government agencies, urban planning departments, consulting firms, and non-profits.
The Cultural Resource Management & Historic Preservation track, like all our programs, emphasizes small seminar classes with a strong focus on historiography, research techniques, and practical application. A minimum three-credit internship is mandatory for completion.
