Cognitive Neuroscience explores how brain mechanisms underlie mental functions like attention, memory, language, and decision-making. At CSU, the Cognitive Neuroscience program emphasizes practical applications in areas including developmental conditions, psychological health, age-related changes, and neurodegenerative diseases. With a compact team of professors and graduate researchers, the program provides access to advanced tools like high-density EEG, fNIRS, remote eye-tracking systems, and transcranial stimulation, alongside conventional behavioral and neuropsychological approaches. Faculty members work closely with colleagues across CSU departments such as Occupational Therapy, Computer Science, Human Development, Exercise Science, and the Molecular Neuroscience Program. The program also fosters partnerships with institutions like CU Anschutz Medical Campus, enabling access to additional neuroimaging technologies including MRI and MEG scanners.
