The Physical Science concentration starts with two semesters each of calculus, chemistry, and physics, along with one semester of biological science. Students fulfill the major by completing two minors chosen from Biochemistry, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geology, Mathematics, Statistics, or Physics. This dual-minor approach provides exceptional breadth across the physical sciences. Alumni have entered scientific careers, while others leverage this foundation for graduate studies, research, or admission to medical/veterinary programs.
Learning Outcomes
Students will develop:
Proficiency in evaluating scientific data critically.
Logical reasoning and analytical thinking abilities.
Competence in tackling intricate problems.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Career Paths
Licensed graduates in secondary science education will encounter robust job prospects for teaching positions at high schools and middle schools, both in Colorado and nationwide. Furthermore, this program equips graduates with the necessary qualifications for advanced studies in science education.
