Students possessing robust academic and research interests can seek entry into a combined bachelor's and master's degree program to initiate their graduate studies in their junior or senior undergraduate years. Eligible students for the IDP program may also opt for MECH 498 Research Practicum as a substitute for senior design. This approach offers adaptability in arranging and finishing upper-level undergraduate courses while simultaneously meeting graduate course criteria for the Master of Engineering (ME) or Master of Science (MS) in mechanical engineering. Admitted students in this program are exempt from the GRE requirement and can count 9 credits of 500-level coursework toward both their undergraduate and graduate degrees. Prior to applying, prospective students should examine graduate research options and the Graduate Study Guidelines.
