You're an innovative problem-solver eager to tackle the world's most pressing issues. You seek a fulfilling career where you can develop, analyze, and engineer materials for groundbreaking applications.
The Materials Science graduate program at Mines will equip you for success. In this distinctive, cross-disciplinary program, you'll work alongside leading scientists and engineers to create, produce, analyze, and test materials across all scales - from atomic to macroscopic. You'll master structure-processing-property relationships to drive progress in multiple fields. A Mines degree opens doors to boundless possibilities.
Our interdisciplinary Materials Science graduate program educates students holding at least a Bachelor of Science in engineering or science. The curriculum covers four fundamental pillars: material properties (including characterization and modeling), material structures, synthesis and processing techniques, and performance evaluation across various material types (metals, ceramics, polymers, electronic materials, and biomaterials). The program offers both thesis and non-thesis MS options, as well as PhD degrees in Materials Science.
