The Department of Applied Science is a multidisciplinary graduate program primarily centered on doctoral studies, while also providing select Master of Science degree options. These programs allow for tailored specializations across various physical and natural science disciplines. Students collaborate with faculty advisors to design personalized academic paths aligned with their career aspirations. The department attracts graduate candidates from diverse academic and professional backgrounds. The educational experience combines structured coursework, faculty mentorship, peer collaboration, and seminar participation. Each student's course plan is adaptable and developed in consultation with their faculty advisory team.
To fulfill degree requirements, candidates must complete either: 1) 30 graduate credit hours plus an original thesis (defended orally before the advisory committee), or 2) 32 graduate credit hours including Applied Science 710 Research Project, as approved by the faculty.
