This program equips students for beginning careers as heavy-line repair technicians. Upon completing this Certificate, students will be capable of diagnosing, removing, disassembling, repairing, and/or replacing and reassembling manual and automatic transmissions, transaxles, differentials, clutches, transfer cases, and axle units. Furthermore, students will perform engine mechanical diagnostics, disassembly and reassembly, and other extensive engine services. Students will become knowledgeable and skilled in safe lab practices, utilizing hand and power tools, DVOMs, scan tools, electronic service information systems, and general automotive industry awareness.
Student Learning Outcomes
Comprehend, recognize, and apply safe working practices and successfully pass the SP/2 exams.
Prepare for the following ASE/NATEF certification tests: ASE A1, ASE A2, ASE A3, and ASE A6.
