This multidisciplinary program provides classes focusing on Latin American studies and U.S. Latina/Latino communities. Designed to explore the historical, political, cultural, economic, psychological, and artistic influences shaping these populations' contemporary realities and diverse identities, it equips students for advanced studies and professional paths in education, humanities, social sciences, business, counseling, and media fields.
Program Learning Objectives
Evaluate key historical, political, economic, geographic, and social factors characterizing Latin America and/or U.S. Latina/o communities.
Investigate the rich cultural diversity, traditions, and artistic manifestations across Latin America and U.S. Latina/o groups.
Achieve language proficiency equivalent to a first-year college sequence in Spanish or Portuguese.
