Ohio's pioneering Master of Science in Software Engineering (MSSE) program builds upon the foundation of the Graduate Certificate Program in Software Engineering. Designed for both working professionals and full-time students across software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, and information management disciplines, this program stands out for its comprehensive approach.
Participants gain exposure to modern methodologies in software system development, with special focus on architectural principles, design strategies, quality assurance, project management, and economic considerations. The curriculum guides students through complete project lifecycles, emphasizing deliverable specifications and development processes. Essential management topics like risk evaluation, project scheduling, and market research form integral components. The program keeps pace with technological advancements while emphasizing practical workplace applications, preparing graduates to fulfill industry requirements and support IT professionals, especially software engineers.
The Computer Science Department features a newly established, cutting-edge Software Engineering teaching lab, outfitted with all necessary hardware and software for the curriculum. Additionally, the department operates a dedicated Software Engineering Research Laboratory, complete with networked desktop computers and servers, offering students opportunities to engage in innovative software engineering research projects.
If you have successfully completed a degree equivalent to a bachelor's degree in the United States, you are considered to be a graduate student at CSU.
