The objective is to develop a scientific comprehension of language that finds applications across diverse fields including applied linguistics, anthropology, speech therapy, language education, computational linguistics, and cognitive science. Career paths include: translation/interpretation, tech sector collaborations (where linguists partner with developers on speech recognition, search algorithms, machine learning, and AI), speech therapy for patients with neurological speech disorders (such as aphasia and genetic conditions), government service (in agencies like FBI, CIA, or military), educational roles (teaching English or foreign languages domestically or internationally), language conservation efforts (with organizations dedicated to preserving endangered languages like SIL or Living Tongues), and dialect coaching for performers (assisting actors in mastering specific accents for roles).
If you have successfully completed your high school degree (12 years of primary and secondary education), you are considered an undergraduate student at CSU.
Meet minimum test score requirements:
TOEFL iBT (Internet-Based): 78 and at least 17 in each section

IELTS: 6.0 and at least 5.0 in each section
PTE (Pearsons Test of English): 50
