The Rhetorics, Communication, and Information Design program is an academic-professional degree that equips students to perform research and share their discoveries via university instruction, professional roles, and publications in both scholarly and mainstream outlets. RCID trains students through research to become educators in higher education institutions, as well as professionals in both conventional and evolving economic sectors, collaborating with businesses, government agencies, and nonprofit entities.

While many RCID students pursue or currently hold academic positions, others work in professional, corporate, and technology-related fields.
