Clemson University recently introduced middle level education as one of its newest degree programs. With significant demand for 5th-8th grade educators across South Carolina, this major lets you specialize in either math/science or language arts/social studies, equipping you to instruct in two academic disciplines upon graduation.
The university's teacher preparation programs hold national accreditation from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), with the middle level education bachelor's degree meeting the rigorous standards set by the Association for Middle Level Education (AMLE).
Education students at Clemson complete over 100 hours of classroom experience before beginning their student teaching requirements.
The program's 72-day teaching internship surpasses South Carolina's certification mandates by 12 additional days of practical experience.
Through Clemson's innovative Teacher Residency program, undergraduates can obtain both their bachelor's degree and Master of Arts in Teaching within a five-year timeframe.
