Clemson provides both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science programs in computer science. The B.A. is a flexible liberal arts degree that allows students to tailor their studies to personal interests while building strong computer science fundamentals. Students pursuing the B.A. typically complement their major with a minor, with digital production arts being a top selection - this path equips graduates for careers or advanced studies in visual effects, animation, and gaming. The B.S. is a more technical program focused on software development for core computer science, scientific, and engineering applications.
Both degree options equip graduates to either launch successful careers as in-demand professionals or pursue advanced studies. Through the Bachelor's-to-Graduate Program, eligible students can count certain credits toward both undergraduate and graduate computer science degrees. The School of Computing additionally offers a specialized B.S. in computer science to M.S. in biomedical data science and informatics pathway.
