Clemson University provides both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science programs in computer science. The B.A. is a flexible liberal arts degree that allows students to tailor their studies to personal interests while gaining solid computer science fundamentals. Students pursuing the B.A. typically complement their major with a minor, with digital production arts being a top selection - this specialization readies graduates for careers or advanced studies in visual effects, animation, and gaming. The B.S. is a more technical program focused on software development for core computer science, scientific, and engineering applications.
Both degree paths equip graduates with skills that make them competitive job candidates or prepare them for advanced studies. Through the accelerated Bachelor's-to-Graduate Program, eligible undergraduates can count certain credits toward both their bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science. Additionally, the School of Computing features a specialized pathway from the B.S. in computer science to an M.S. in biomedical data science and informatics.
