In today's global economy, there is a growing need for professionals who can effectively merge technology, engineering, and business management. Clarkson University's Bachelor of Science in Engineering & Management holds dual accreditation from ABET for engineering and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACAB) for business. This distinctive program blends robust business expertise with technical engineering problem-solving abilities.
As companies redefine technical and managerial positions, you'll be prepared for diverse, adaptable career trajectories focused on leadership and technology. Remarkably, one-third of the Engineering & Management program's alumni are already CEOs, senior executives, or business owners.
This interdisciplinary offering, a collaboration between the Reh School of Business and the Coulter School of Engineering, equips you to bridge the gap between engineering/technology and the business sector. Graduates are acknowledged as innovators capable of sparking new concepts and driving transformation.
You'll learn from esteemed faculty such as Professor John Milne, a former IBM Master Inventor with over 25 years of industry expertise, who involves undergraduates in his research and inspires them to pursue invention. Dozens of his students have submitted provisional U.S. patent applications.
The curriculum emphasizes hands-on experience, with many courses incorporating open-ended challenges and practical projects from the first year—like Team-Based Design & Innovation and Technological Entrepreneurship—through to senior design capstones. Students tackle real-world issues starting on their very first day at Clarkson.
Special Note Regarding the Redesigned SAT (Fall 2017 applicants and beyond): Clarkson will not require you to take the optional essay writing portion of the redesigned SAT. For students who have taken both the newly redesigned SAT as well as the old version, Clarkson will accept and consider both score sets.
