Assessing outcomes is a vital method for determining how well public policies work. The Master of Arts in Public Policy & Evaluation equips you with specialized skills in outcome assessment techniques, offering deep insights into what drives successful public policy.
The Master of Arts in Public Policy & Evaluation (MAPPE) is a collaborative initiative between the Division of Politics & Economics (DPE) and the Division of Behavioral & Organizational Sciences (DBOS), merging two closely related fields—public policy and evaluation—that are typically studied independently. With a strong focus on the political dimensions of outcome assessment, you'll gain expertise in stakeholder involvement, empowerment considerations, and the ethical responsibilities of policy analysts and evaluators. The curriculum provides significant flexibility to tailor your degree, building essential competencies for diverse career paths, particularly in nonprofit or government sectors.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
MAPPE students can enroll in policy/evaluation-related electives or cross-disciplinary courses across CGU schools, pending advisor approval.
The program features graduate-exclusive instruction through intimate, discussion-based classes led by expert faculty.
You may combine your MA with another degree, such as a Master of Public Health, receiving separate diplomas while sharing credits between programs to reduce total unit requirements.
