Located at the dynamic crossroads of cultural studies, digital media, critical analysis, and mainstream culture, the rapidly evolving discipline of Media Studies explores both creative and analytical approaches among media audiences, creators, artists, and academics, with emphasis on issues of portrayal, influence, innovation, governance, and commerce.

This Media Studies specialization is provided through collaboration with The Claremont Colleges' Intercollegiate Media Studies (IMS) Program. Our program allows students to craft a personalized curriculum within the expanding realm of Media Studies, encompassing diverse disciplines such as cultural and film studies, digital media, visual analysis, critical perspectives, contemporary culture, media creation, and art historical studies. Participants examine both the imaginative and evaluative methods employed by media audiences, content creators, and researchers.

The Media Studies specialization is open to School of Arts & Humanities students enrolled in Applied Gender Studies, Cultural Studies, English, History, and Religion programs. This specialization is granted alongside the primary degree and appears on academic records as supplementary professional recognition.
