Our challenging media arts graduate program offers four specialized tracks:

Electronic Media Studies
Electronic Media Management
Electronic Media Production
Film Theory and Criticism
This program blends academic theory with hands-on practice. You'll culminate your studies with a research paper or thesis showcasing your specialized knowledge. Graduate students can also engage with our student-run media outlets: Moore Hall Television, WMHW radio, Moore Media Records, or the CMU Film Society.

Qualification Requirements

To receive regular admission to the program, a student must attain an undergraduate grade point average of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale. Students lacking appropriate preparatory course work may be admitted with stipulations.

International applicants must present a score of 250 CBT (Computer-Based Test) or 600 PBT (Paper-based Test) or 100 iBT (internet-Based test) or better on the International TOEFL, or a score of 7.0 or better on the IELTS.
