The Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology program offers a customized curriculum focused on building professional competencies and career growth. Collaborate with your faculty advisor and committee while developing your skills through core studies and research projects. Our program draws faculty and laboratory resources from multiple departments within the College of Science and Engineering and the College of Medicine. Investigators employ diverse methodologies and model organisms to conduct both fundamental and applied research across various fields, including cancer biology, infectious diseases, neuroscience, and developmental biology.

Candidates are expected to hold a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Master of Science (M.S.) degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry or a related area of science, with a GPA of 3.0. Research experience is strongly preferred. International students must meet the requirements for regular admission to the Office of Graduate Studies.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 550 PBT/79 IBT.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.5.
