The Social Science Major offers an interdisciplinary curriculum ideal for students who have broad interests in social sciences. This program pairs well with numerous minors across social sciences, including communications, entrepreneurship, sustainability and environmental policy, geographic information science, journalism, leadership, and military science. It also provides flexibility for undergraduates who decide to switch majors later in their academic journey. While resembling the social studies major, this program does not provide K-12 teaching certification. Each student will receive guidance from either an advisor in their chosen specialization or the Chair of the Social Science Council.

High school graduate: If you are currently in high school, we just need to see your 9-11 (or equivalent) grade transcripts for an admission decision. However, you must graduate from an approved high school (or equivalent) prior to starting classes at CMU.
