The Psychology Department provides a wide selection of undergraduate courses for students majoring or minoring in psychology, along with an accelerated five-year graduate program culminating in a master's degree in Experimental Psychology. The department's educational objectives align with three core purposes for studying psychology: (1) fostering self-awareness of psychological processes in oneself and one's surroundings, (2) building professional expertise for careers involving human development, mental health, behavior analysis, and related psychological fields, and (3) equipping students with fundamental knowledge and skills for advanced study in psychology or similar disciplines. At CMU's psychology program, you'll develop deeper insights into human behavior while engaging in innovative research using state-of-the-art labs and training facilities. Work closely with distinguished faculty who provide individualized guidance and research mentorship across diverse course offerings including behavior analysis, clinical interviewing, health psychology, forensic psychology, psychological assessment, sports psychology, and personality studies.
