Our ABET-accredited mechanical engineering technology program equips you with the knowledge and hands-on skills for a dynamic career in designing, installing, manufacturing, testing, evaluating, selling, or maintaining mechanical systems.
You will master design and manufacturing processes, tools, and modeling techniques.
Courses cover robotics, thermodynamics, circuits, and energy analysis, complemented by practical training in metals and polymers. Collaborate with faculty using advanced technology, including 3-D printers and alternative energy systems.
As a mechanical engineering technology student, you will have the opportunity to:
Undertake a senior-year capstone design project.
Past projects include motorized target systems for campus police, wind turbine designs, enhancements for automotive and manufacturing systems, and numerous other innovative endeavors.
Participate in building race cars with CMU's Society of Automotive Engineers Baja or Formula One teams.
Gain research experience by working alongside faculty committed to enriching your educational journey.
