Growing research shows our daily habits significantly influence our health, wellness, lifespan, and healthcare expenses. Recognizing prevention as crucial for healthy living and controlling medical costs has spurred interest in health education and promotion across diverse settings like clinics, gyms, agencies, and schools. Health science professionals receive training to enhance people's quality of life through healthy habits. The School of Health Sciences provides undergraduate programs that prepare students to: 1) serve as fitness experts in preventive and rehabilitative programs, 2) work as health educators in public settings, 3) specialize in substance abuse prevention and treatment programs, and 4) manage administrative roles in healthcare organizations. Graduate offerings include: Health Service Administration (MSA), Exercise Physiology (MS), Public Health (MPH), Health Administration (MHA), and Doctor of Health Administration. Details appear in the Graduate Studies Bulletin. The clinical exercise science track combines exercise biology with health studies, ideal for careers in cardiopulmonary rehab or diagnostic testing, while also providing strong preparation for graduate programs like physical or occupational therapy.
